Sacramento is also home to several recreational facilities that should be taken advantage of if you plan to visit the area. One of the most popular recreational areas in Sacramento that is enjoyed by locals and tourists alike is the Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail. This trail runs between Old Sacramento and Folsom Lake. Cyclists and equestrians from many different places take a special liking to this trail.

The Discovery Park is another much visited recreational spot in Sacramento. Discovery Park is a large park and within this park, the American River and Sacramento River meet one another. Fishermen may find themselves especially fond of this place.

There are also recreation centers around Sacramento that many like. These recreation centers will likely have rock climbing, pools, gymnasiums, cardiovascular centers and much more. These recreation centers are a great spot for both the single traveler and the family travelers.

As far as transportation goes around Sacramento, there are several options. For those who are not interested in walking, there is the option of the Amtrak passenger rail service or the Sacramento Regional Transit’s bus. Amtrak provides the city of Sacramento with passenger rail service and they are currently making renovations to their system. There are also taxi services as well as car rental businesses for those who are interested in driving. Anyone who has flown into Sacramento may be interested in renting a vehicle.
